So due to some scheduling conflicts, I will be unable to accompany my friend onto Whenzao; he will be starting work again, and there will be nothing in that town for an English speaker to do. My friend has been an excellent host and the trip was very good and unique. I had to transfer to tokyo on the way to Shanghai on the way over, so for the return trip I called delta and ajdusted my flight schedule so that I went on my Shanghai Tokyo flight 3 days before my Tokyo to USA flight So now I will have a 3 day trip to Tokyo effectively. oes anyone have suggeestions for things to do there?

The comments work; I havfe the blog set so that I must approve of each comment before it will appear here, otherwise I will get so much spam that I will not be able to find the real comments.
As far as tha maid cafe’s go, I am relativey certain that most of them are not English compatible. I suspect that the conversation would go like this:
Maid: Irashaimas (a greeting, this time said while preparing an overpriced drink)
Me: Konbanwa (I will probably go at night, so good evening would probably be appropriate)
Maid: (Something more complex, I’ll be lost at this point)
Me: (smile, bow politely, knowing that she asked a question but only knowing that)
Maid: (looks at the clock, hoping that it will be a merciful master, but manages to smile anyway)
Me: (say goodbye, the walk out knowing that I’ve helped improve the Japanese image of foreigners)
Then again it might be worth some amount of yen to have two girls dressed as maids escort me somewhere.
. Someday you will understand.
