Con time

I’m off to the the higher ed web development conference in Springfield, Missouri. Plane rides went just fine and nothing particularly outstanding has happened so far.

During the ride I was powerlevling my party in FF3 because the game designers saw it fit that by the time you got to the final dungeon, you would be just fine for facing the local monsters, but would have to go to a point at which you could not save before fighting the worst boss in the world and you would also be about 10 levels below what could be considered even remotely survivable by ordinary human beings.

As a result each boss run takes about 2 hrs and the boss fight itself lasts for 20 minutes maximum. Usually with be dying terribly because the boss remembered to attack twice this turn instead of once. Fortunately I was flying in a tube in the sky and there was nothing more interesting to do. My warriors might finally be ready to save the world.

Chile’s is a suprisingly good place to get… Chili. We were in Texas for about 2 hours around dinner time so it seemed like a good idea at the time, and it was.

We’ll have all of Sunday to explore the town and hopefully find some fun things to do around here for the day. I saw one particular set of caves (with drive through tour) that could fit the bill perfectly.

Hopefully the conference will be a great resource for staying on top of the latest and greatest in web development trends and technology
