In reply to Tim… maybe you’ve worked it out now but around line 15 of the config.m4 file is this:

for i in $PHP_IMAGICK /usr/local /usr;

The for loop here is going through the paths stated in this line… simply add /opt/local like so

for i in $PHP_IMAGICK /opt/local /usr/local /usr;

This worked for me.

Specifically how do I update the config.m4 file so PHP sees imagemagick?

Hey Mike – I just went through the install for this on my box too. The config.m4 file is inside of the imagick tar file that pecl downloaded. When I ran the pecl command in the tutorial, it downloaded the file into my “/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/bin/” folder. So check there first.

Ok, now it works: “sudo ./pecl download imagick”

“pecl download imagick” doesn’t work! I only get the message “pecl: command not found” But “pecl” exists! What can I do?

Hi,
nice tutorial

Unfortunately I already have problems with the test commands.

When typing
“convert logo logo.gif”

I get the following error message:
unable to open image `logo’: No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/2587.
convert: no decode delegate for this image format `logo’ @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/532.
convert: missing an image filename `logo.gif’ @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/3011.

Do I have to set some specific path to the logo file?
